The Role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager, reporting directly to our Head of Engineering. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our flagship brand. As a pivotal member of a squad within our Product Hub, you'll play a crucial role in driving the optimisation and scaling of our global product while contributing to a culture of knowledge sharing and growth across the business.

Your Impact:

  • Lead Engineering Excellence: Lead and mentor a squad of 6 engineers across the UK and Poland, fostering a collaborative culture and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Technical Problem-Solving: Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and ensure successful project completion.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to squad members, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication, contributing to customer-facing, best-in-class commercial feature development.
  • Culture of Learning: Foster a culture of learning and development, supporting squad members' professional growth through coaching, training, mentorship, and skill-building opportunities.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Execution at Scale: Previous experience executing at scale as an engineer, with a hands-on approach to modern frontend technology (React.js, Next.js, TypeScript).
  • Leadership and Management Experience: Prior experience directly managing multiple engineers and practical experience communicating and collaborating with stakeholders in an Agile environment.
  • Best Practices: Experience working in a team environment with best practices in testing, pairing, documentation, and code reviews.
  • Hands on delivery: Experience with hands-on delivery and facilitator experience (Agile, Scrum, Kanban)

The Interview Process:

  • 1st: Initial Chat with Talent Partner (30 mins via telephone)
  • 2nd: Behavioural interview with 2 members of the Engineering Team (1 hour)
  • 3rd: Engineering Manager scenarios take home task - you will be provided with a take-home task to complete (do not spend longer than 2 hours)
  • 4th: Present scenarios back to the team (1.5 hour video via Zoom)
