Your Impact:

  • Lead a 25+ person, multi-location finance function across Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury and Payroll, creating clear accountability and ownership through the finance leadership team.
  • Assess and evolve the finance operating model, ensuring organisational structure, process ownership, systems, controls and ways of working can scale with the business and wider Group requirements.
  • Lead end-to-end redesign and optimisation of core finance processes, identifying opportunities to standardise, simplify and automate workflows while reducing manual intervention, operational risk and dependency on individual knowledge.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to improve finance systems and automation, ensuring solutions are scalable and deliver measurable improvements in process efficiency, controls and data quality.
  • Establish clear process ownership, SLAs, controls and KPIs across finance and use data to identify performance gaps, bottlenecks and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Lead through managers and team leads, building their capability and empowering them to take ownership of their functions.
  • Take a hands-on role in complex operational and technical issues where required, while ensuring solutions are subsequently embedded into scalable processes rather than remaining dependent on individual intervention.
  • Lead the finance function through post-acquisition integration, balancing the requirements of Legend and Group Finance and driving alignment across reporting, controls, systems, data and ways of working.
  • Make clear prioritisation and resource allocation decisions across BAU delivery and transformation initiatives, ensuring critical activities remain stable while progressing the highest-value improvements.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Legend and the wider Group, confidently challenging where appropriate and translating complex financial or operational issues into clear business implications and decisions.
  • What You'll Bring:

  • ACA/ICAS/ACCA qualification with significant post-qualified experience in senior finance leadership roles.
  • Demonstrable experience leading a sizeable, multi-functional Finance Operations or Financial Control organisation, ideally across multiple locations and jurisdictions.

  • Proven experience leading through managers and functional leads, with evidence of building leadership capability and creating organisations that can operate effectively without excessive dependency on you personally.

  • Deep operational knowledge across several core finance disciplines such as Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury and Payroll, with the ability to challenge processes and diagnose complex operational issues.

  • A strong track record of end-to-end finance process transformation, with tangible examples of redesigning and standardising workflows, strengthening controls and using automation or systems to deliver measurable improvements.

  • Strong finance systems capability and experience translating operational requirements into effective systems design. ERP implementation or significant transformation experience, including Workday, would be advantageous.

  • Experience designing scalable finance operating models, including clear process ownership, governance, controls, SLAs, KPIs and appropriate organisational structures.

  • Experience leading teams through significant organisational change, ideally including acquisition integration or working within a larger parent/group finance structure.

  • Strong performance management capability, with evidence of setting high standards and providing direct feedback while maintaining team engagement.

  • A hands-on leadership style and the technical credibility to get into the detail when necessary, combined with the judgement to delegate effectively and avoid becoming an operational bottleneck.

  • Strong prioritisation and decision-making skills, with experience balancing BAU delivery, transformation programmes and competing senior stakeholder demands in a fast-moving environment.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence and challenge senior leaders by translating financial and operational complexity into clear commercial implications.

  • Resilience and genuine motivation to operate in a changing, ambiguous environment where the opportunity is to build and transform rather than inherit a settled BAU function.

Experience within a technology scale-up, gaming business or similarly fast-moving international environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
